Jamie Meiselman | Founder, CEO

Meiselman has spent much of his surfing life just out of reach of good surfing waves. He conceived the Surfpark concept in 1999, while hopelessly landlocked in Vermont as the Boot Category Manager for Burton Snowboards. Before Burton, he was based in Boston, running the US operations of German-based snowboarding company Generics and Blax (now Head Snowboards). Meiselman's only true beachside living experience was at TransWorld Media in San Diego, where he was Founding Editor of TransWorld Skateboarding Business and TransWorld Snowboarding Business trade publications, and became Managing Editor of TransWorld Snowboarding magazine.

Meiselman received his BA from Dartmouth College (2-hours to the beach), and MBA from Columbia University (an hour, without traffic). While at business school, he nurtured the Surfpark business model and received seed funding for Surfparks via Columbia's Eugene Lang Entrepreneurial Initiative Fund. He has since settled in his former NJ hometown (still an agonizing 45-minute drive to the beach) and looks forward to one day claiming "local" surf-spot status, even if it has to be at a pool.
